It is only through the providence of God that we enjoy our freedoms, along  with our patios, steaks and hot dogs. If we forget Him who has so blessed  us, how can we expect His continued favor? He has blessed our nation with a unique purpose in history, but if we have lost sight of our purpose, from whence will come our blessings?

Do you take time to worship God, and to thank Him for the freedoms you enjoy? Have you accepted His Son into your heart and life? Do you enjoy the greatest freedom God offers to all the freedom from sin–its guilt, power and punishment? Can it be said of you, “But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness” (Romans 6:17-18, NKJV)?

Our nation can again be turned to God, but only if we love Him above things. If we do otherwise, let us not complain of divine retribution.                                                (Ron Bartanen)
