Complete in Christ
In combating various dogmas and
philosophies that had arisen in the
Colossian church, Paul wrote,
“Ye are complete in him”
(Colossians
2:10), referring to their
completeness in Christ, the head of
the church. Our spiritual
relationship with God is not through
man’s imposition of his own
authority upon others, nor even
through angels, but only through
Christ. As he also wrote,
“Though we or an angel from heaven
preach any other gospel unto you
than that which we have preached
unto you, let him be accursed”
(Galatians
1:8). There is no supplementary
source of grace or instruction that
God has given us. They are to be
found only in Christ and His word.
