Have you visited our web site this week? New material is posted each week. See “Christian Evidences/Apologetics Press” in English and Spanish. February 22, 2007POSITIVE FAITHImagine this if you can: A man comes home, anticipating a cheery welcome, a warm meal, and the comforts of home. He finds none of that. There is not even a nice “Hello,” and his wife is sitting idle. He proceeds to scold her for her neglect. Her reply is, “I’ve broken no dishes, I have not lost any of our silverware. I’ve not torn my clothes, nor chopped up the furniture. In fact, I’ve done nothing that I shouldn’t.” If that happened, she might receive a lecture on responsibility and performance of positive duties. Christianity is more than a “do not do this” faith. Many expect entrance through the pearly gates because they’ve not been murderers, adulterers nor thieves. In fact, it is more than what we refrain from doing. It is also what we do—a positive faith. James said, “To him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin” (James 4:17). Is yours a negative faith, or a positive faith? The message this Sunday a.m.: “The Religion of the Second Mile”. MONTHLY SONG SERVICE: Sunday evening. THE ARTHUR CHURCH OF CHRIST415 W. 4th Street in Arthur
