FOOTPRINTS OF JESUS

One of the songs in our song books has this line: “Who will follow the steps of Jesus…Where’er they go.”  There are many examples in life that people, some of them good and some bad.  Jesus gives us the perfect example of how life was meant to be lived.  The apostle Peter stated “that we should follow His steps” (1 Peter 2:21).  Would you follow Him—

·         IN BAPTISM? Although Jesus was without sin, yet He did not begin His ministry until He was baptized (Matthew 3:13).

·         IN OVERCOMING TEMPTATION? Temptation immediately followed His baptism (Matt. 4).  In each temptation, He resisted by the use of scripture, saying, “It is written….”

·         IN PUBLIC WORSHIP? In Luke 4:16 we see His custom was to worship in the synagogue, the house of worship of the Jews.  Early Christians followed His example by worshiping together (Acts 20:7; Heb. 10:25).
